History: Founded by Walter Harvey Geissinger in Philidelphia in 1878, Ballinger was one of the first firms in the United States to blend architecture and engineering in their practice. Today, they are a “boutique” practice that works mostly designing elegant buildings in the education and health fields.

History
Stantec was founded by Dr. Don Stanley, the first Canadian to receive an Environmental Engineering degree from Harvard, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1954. Initially a one-man civil engineering firm, it now stands with 450 offices worldwide with 22,000 employees. They offer a wide range of engineering and consulting services. They acquired the Austin, Texas based engineering firm Bury, along with its 350 employees and 7 offices, in 2016.
