History:
Foster + Partners was founded in 1967 by architect Norman Foster as Foster Associates. Although Norman Foster remains the Chairman and lead architect, the firm was renamed in the 1990’s to reflect the increased influence of new lead architects. It is a British architectural, engineering, and integrated design practice. The firm is most internationally recognized for it’s numerous high-profile glass and steel buildings.
“Over the past four decades the company has been responsible for a strikingly wide range of work, from urban masterplans, public infrastructure, airports, civic and cultural buildings, offices and workplaces to private houses and product design.” 1
