History:
SNC was formed by Arthur Surveyer in 1911. From oil and gas, to mining and metallurgy, to infrastructure, SNC played a pivotal role in building the power plants and industrial facilities that would elevate Canada to its position as one of the world’s leading producers of natural resources. SNC eventually merged with the Canadian engineering giant Lavalin in 1991. Adopting the SNC-Lavalin that exists to this day, the new partnership became the country’s largest engineering and construction company. More major acquisitions followed in the new millennium, reinforcing this position: the leading global oil and gas service provider Kentz Corporation was acquired in 2014; the UK-based design, engineering, and project management company WS Atkins came on board three years later, in 2017. Today, they continue to build on this legacy for their global customers in the resources, power and infrastructure sectors.
