Brief History:

Founded in 1937, in the small city of Greeley, CO by Hensel Phelps, the company’s work mostly consisted of residential building and remodeling for slightly more than a decade. In the late 50’s the company was incorporated and was continued to be runned by the Phelps family, particularly by Hensel’s son Joseph. The company continued to grow in the second half of the 20th century and has seen expansion into almost every region of the United States.

As of 2008, the company employs just shy of 3,000 people nationally, and is ranked 28th on ENR’s Top 400 contractors of 2014, bringing in a revenue total of slightly over $2B.
