History:
Rafael Vinoly Architects was founded in 1983 by the Uruguayan Rafael Vinoly. The firms first office was located in New York, NY. Rafael Vinoly Architects has now grown to include three additional US offices as well as two international offices. Rafael Vinoly Architects first major project was the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. In 1989 the firm won the competition for the Tokyo International Forum, this became another project that would help the firm receive national media and notoriety.
