History

Kohn Pederson and Fox was founded July 4, 1976 precisely 200 years following America’s independence.  The three founding architects A. Eugene Kohn, William Pederson, and Sheldon Fox envisioned an architecture firm which based its success on dialogue and communication.

The first projects began in the United States which included buildings such as 333 Wacker Lane in Chicago and the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas.  These skyscrapers as well as some of the firm’s newer projects consist of a primarily glass façade wrapped around a skeleton that uniquely combines linear and curved features.

Some of the newer projects such as the pinnacle incorporate ideas such as a spiraling structural frame encompassed by glass or curved shell-like structures such as the Lotte Super Tower 123.  Kohn Pederson and Fox strive for the minimization of environmental impact and implementation of vernacular elements in their skyscrapers.

Selected Projects:

International Commerce Centre

Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas

The Pinnacle

Lotte Super Tower

Shanghai World Financial Center
